Got some great news to share? Help us tell your startup success story.

The Moore Street Journal is the number one place for sharing news about innovation, tech and business in Canberra and the region. We welcome quality articles and media releases. We value our contributors and thank you for helping share published content on LinkedIn and other platforms.

How to submit articles and media releases

Please send potential articles in Word document format to editor@msj.digital.

We are unable to publish all submissions that we receive. We may also edit content lightly to improve readability.

Guidelines for articles

We accept written articles of between 500 and 1,500 words. Please:

  • Ensure the topic is relevant to Canberra and the region and shares news about a key innovation;

  • Ensure the article reads like a news article and avoid articles that are advertorial or promotional in content;

  • Craft an SEO-friendly title of fewer than 65 characters;

  • Use single rather than double spacing;

  • Use subheadings, especially if the article is long;

  • Avoid footnotes;

  • Ensure any hyperlinks are current;

  • Include a short bio of around 100 words, a link to your LinkedIn profile and a headshot; and

  • Provide your email and mobile phone number if we need to contact you for additional information.

Guidelines for media releases

In addition to the general guidelines for articles (above), please ensure media releases:

  • Include contact information, especially if the material is time sensitive;

  • Are one page in length;

  • Include direct quotes from key stakeholders; and

  • Explain the who, why and what about how the story is relevant to The Moore Street Journal’s audience.

Images

A picture tells a thousand words and can help improve an article. Accompanying images should be:

  • High resolution;

  • Landscape;

  • PNG or Jpeg format; and

  • Sent via Dropbox or another easily accessible cloud storage platform - especially if there are multiple images.

Please include the name of the photographer and anyone in the photographs.
